Contralto Recitative was conceived as a set of recited poems with saxophone accompaniment. The poems are by Ava Leavell Haymon, who along with Griffin Campbell commissioned the piece. This video is of the premiere performance by Haymon and Campbell at the LSU Faculty Composers concert in April 2023.
